ANTD.VN – The public art project on Tran Nhat Duat pedestrian bridge, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi was officially inaugurated on the evening of April 23, promising to become a new sightseeing and check-in destination for residents and tourists. when arriving in Hanoi.

The group implementing this project is a group of artists who participated in the Phuc Tan public art project, Phung Hung public art project such as artists Vu Xuan Dong, Le Dang Ninh, Can Van An and curator Nguyen The. Paint.

The pedestrian bridge on Tran Nhat Duat street is a pedestrian traffic path connecting the old quarter and the Phuc Tan area of Thanh Yen border gate, in Hoan Kiem district. The artists said that actual surveys both during the day and at night showed that the main users were older people, street vendors, and most were school students. The density of people passing by is not too high and in the evening the light is not enough, so the bridge surface is quite dark. From that survey, the artists had the idea of making this pedestrian bridge more joyful and lively, as well as being lit up in the evening by the light of public art installations. Partly used from recycled materials.

The works of art have turned the space of Tran Nhat Duat pedestrian bridge into a sparkling, multi-colored space.

With the theme “Water”, interactive installations are located throughout the pedestrian bridge, transforming the bridge into a collection of light installations. The work “Aquarium” by artist Vu Xuan Dong evokes the feeling of an attractive aquarium tunnel with all kinds of models of ocean fish swimming above the bridge arch. The arrangement of ocean fish species is absorbed by the light system along both sides of the bridge arch as well as the LED lighting system inside.

Interspersed among the waves are images of workers in Henri Oger’s study “The Technique of the Annamese People”. The foot of the stairs walking from both directions is designed with paintings “Carp crossing the Vu Mon” from the Hang Trong folk painting treasure trove, reminding the students of the learning and training journey of climbing the stairs every day. Going to school is like the journey of “a carp turning into a dragon”.

The artist group hopes that the bridge will be a check-in point for the April 30 holiday.

With the theme “Water”, two 3D drawings will interact with the bridge pillars to form a zipper image of flowing water, and a 3D painting behind the dike wall with paper boats that are very familiar to school children. trick. The pedestrian bridge with the theme “Water” is like a geographical link between the two old town areas inside the dyke and the Phuc Tan area outside the dyke, becoming a public art space connecting with the public art space. Phuc Tan community and the old town with the location of Cultural and Art Center at 22 Hang Buom.

Artists implementing an installation art project on the Tran Nhat Duat pedestrian bridge hope that this will be a new check-in point for people during the holidays of April 30 and May 1 as well as the following period. Besides, this art project will contribute to another cultural destination in Hoan Kiem district.
