Previously, last January, the Director of VNU signed Decision No. 333/QD-DHQGHN on transforming the model and reorganizing the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences into the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts.

GS. Dr. Le Quan, Director of Hanoi National University, said the idea of ​​an art school in the Hanoi National University system was formed quite early but there were no conditions to implement it.

Therefore, the transformation of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences into the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts with the main functions and tasks is to organize and implement training and scientific research activities in creative fields. Creativity and art are one of the policies to realize that determination, adding a missing piece in the multidisciplinary university organization model of Hanoi National University.

It is known that in 2024, the school will enroll students in bachelor’s majors/majors including: Brand Management; Heritage resource management; Entertainment and event management; Smart and sustainable urban governance; Creative design (with majors: Creative Fashion, Sustainable Interior Design, Digital Technology Graphics); 5 Master’s majors: Heritage Studies, Climate Change, Sustainability Science, Urban Development Management, Creative Cultural Industries; 2 PhD majors: Heritage, Climate change and sustainable development.

The departments and training majors of the faculty all develop according to an applied interdisciplinary orientation, with inheritance, continuity and academic development, world integration as well as a close connection with each other. clearly demonstrates interdisciplinary thinking, including in the field of art.

Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Principal of the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts, said that in 2024, the school will still maintain 4 admission methods, of which about 50% of the admission target will be based on high school graduation exam results, and the remaining for other admission methods.

In the coming time, the school will become a prestigious and quality training facility in interdisciplinary science and arts of Hanoi National University, ranked highly in the region and the world.

Facing the current situation and the need to train high-quality human resources in creativity and art, the school hopes to be a place connecting the past and present, between the world of science and art, between knowledge and art. traditional and modern knowledge, between single-disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches…

Currently, Hanoi National University has 9 member schools including: Universities of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Foreign Languages, Technology, Economics, Education, Vietnamese-Japanese, Medicine and Pharmacy, Law; 3 schools and one affiliated faculty include the School of Management and Business, International, Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts; Faculty of International Francophone.
