Chelsea makes a list of 3 coaches to replace Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge is still in doubt, especially after the recent 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Chelsea are 9th and have almost run out of chances to win a place in next season’s European Cup, which could ultimately determine Pochettino’s fate.

According to The Times, the Blues leadership wants to reconsider Pochettino’s position in the summer. It was believed that his position was safe until then but replacements were being prepared.

The list includes Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim, Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi and Champions League winner Hansi Flick.

Amorim is flying high with Sporting, aiming for the national championship and at one point was the frontrunner for the hot seat at Liverpool, after Klopp left. He also held talks with West Ham about succeeding David Moyes at the London Stadium.

De Zerbi and Hansi Flick both showed talent and class. Chelsea’s search for a potential new coach could be affected by competition in the market with Bayern, Liverpool and AC Milan all looking for a new coach.

Chelsea’s defeat in the London derby at the Emirates was their 11th defeat of the season, but Pochettino refused to criticize his players.

He said: “I cannot blame the players. We are not performing well this season, that’s why we are where we are.”

“When we have bad days, we are bad. When we are good, we are capable of doing anything.”

“That’s another thing we need to keep in mind, is that we need to strengthen for the future.”
