‘Freeze’ assets of more than 762 companies related to Van Thinh Phat case
Regarding the case of Van Thinh Phat Group Joint Stock Company and giant Truong My Lan, recently, Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment has announced to suspend asset fluctuations of 762 related companies.
The Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment has just announced the suspension of changes in assets, including: real estate, shares, contributed capital, shares, etc., owned by the accused, individuals and companies involved in the project. The case of “fraudulent appropriation of property” occurred at Van Thinh Phat Group Joint Stock Company and related units, organizations and individuals to serve the request of investigating the case.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, this blockade is implemented at the request of the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security.
Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment has notified agencies and units and requested relevant individuals and organizations to immediately suspend all activities related to the transaction of transfer, purchase, sale, lease, and transfer. , donation, pledge, mortgage of shares/capital contributions… of companies in Hanoi city.

At the same time, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Public Security also issued decisions to prosecute the accused, arrest warrants for temporary detention, search warrants for Ms. Truong My Lan and 3 accomplices on the crime of “fraud to appropriate assets”. property”, due to fraudulent acts in the issuance, trading of bonds in contravention of the law to appropriate trillions of dong from people during 2018 – 2019.
Police HCMC also proposed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment HCMC review, identify and provide information on land use rights related to Van Thinh Phat Group Joint Stock Company of state origin (or non-origin). According to the attached list, these 156 land plots are concentrated in Districts 1, 3, 5, 7…, Binh Chanh District and Thu Duc City.
