Thao Nhu, an office worker in Ho Chi Minh City, said her husband came to pick him up after work but could not call for 30 minutes. “I did not receive any calls, then discovered that the MobiFone sim had no signal, and the network operator did not send a notification message in advance. Many people around me had the same situation,” Thao said.

Hoang Van, a technology driver, said that from about 5 pm, he could not access the Internet to connect the application. Initially, Van thought the phone was faulty, but after many restarts, removed the sim and re-inserted, the device still did not show any signal lines. “MobiFone lost signal at peak times, the demand for booking a car was very crowded, there was no way to ‘explode’, others did not know how to contact customers,” Hoang Van said.

At 5:40 pm, a representative of MobiFone confirmed that the connection status in Ho Chi Minh City was interrupted, the network operator was analyzing the cause and confirming the scope of influence.

By 6pm, users still could not reconnect, especially in the central area, District 1, District 3.

According to Mr. Thanh Nhan, a representative of a large transportation service provider, the sudden interruption of Mobifone without any prior notice or explanation to users is not only troublesome but also causes damage to users. use. He said many drivers are not being able to deliver on time due to loss of signal. The switchboard must find another method of communication such as OTT to notify and apologize to customers. Some goods cannot be left for long at outdoor temperatures and must be returned to the warehouse.

This is the second time within 3 months MobiFone network has problems in the South. Earlier on the morning of October 24, 2022, a series of subscribers to this network also encountered problems. MobiFone then apologized for the intermittent situation when using the service and said it was due to the upgrade and the need to start the system, so it “affected users in a short time”.

In September 2020, users in Ho Chi Minh City could not make calls, receive messages, access 3G, 4G. After that, the problem spread to the areas of Vinh Long, Binh Dinh, Thai Binh, Da Nang, Ben Tre, and Hanoi. At that time, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation said that due to a transmission error, some subscribers had problems with voice and data. The problem was fixed within a day. In 2018, MobiFone users in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City also had a similar problem and were restored after 3 hours.
