Over 100,000 houses for meritorious people and poor households will be resolved during this term

Delegate Nguyen Huu Thong (Binh Thuan Province National Assembly Delegation) said the proposal should be considered Reduce the age to enjoy social benefits for the elderly Being eligible for social benefits from 80 years old to 75 years old has been raised many times, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also promised but there is no specific policy to resolve this issue.

Responding to this issue, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung – Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said: The age to enjoy social benefits is currently regulated in the Law on the Elderly and currently in this law, it is stipulated that 80 years old can be enjoyed.

“Because the law stipulates that, the ministry has no right, but in that spirit, while the Law on the Elderly has not been amended, we have proactively reported to the Standing Committee, reported to the Government and transferred the This content is transferred to the Social Insurance Law.

In the immediate future, the age limit is lowered from 80 years old to 75 years old and included in the social pension insurance layer. Currently, the National Assembly is considering it, so we have fulfilled our promise, but the final decision is up to the National Assembly” – the Minister said.

Regarding the housing support policy for people with meritorious services and poor households, the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs said the Ministry’s responsibility is to evaluate documents, not to preside over this project.

Regarding the 400,000 temporary and dilapidated houses across the country, the Minister said that the Prime Minister agreed and agreed to assign the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front together with the Government to launch the movement. nationwide emulation “Joining hands with the poor to eliminate temporary housing”.

Along with that, the Central Government also agreed to build 1 million apartments for workers and laborers from now until 2030. By 2030, people will have temporary and dilapidated houses completely eliminated.

Currently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is discussing with the Ministry of Finance and agreeing to submit to the National Assembly, striving to ensure that over 100,000 houses will be completely resolved during this term.

“This is direct support capital, when deployed, it is highly feasible. However, when people build houses, there are many problems, such as the mentality of often choosing at the end of the year and choosing age… Due to That also requires perseverance, but the spirit will support how to keep up with this problem” – the Minister said.

There is still a backlog of meritorious person records

Regarding backlogged records of people with meritorious services, over the past 7 years, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has reviewed over 7,000 records from all periods located in localities, agencies, ministries and branches.

To date, more than 2,600 cases of martyrs have been confirmed, mainly against the French. More than 2,500 records have been confirmed as war invalids and invalid war policy beneficiaries.

“However, we confirm that we have not yet exhausted the backlog of documents, but mainly the documents are of an individual nature” – the Minister said.

The remaining cases are extremely difficult, some cases take several years to complete. In these special cases, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will coordinate with localities along with the army, police and branches, and any basis or clue remains to be confirmed.

However, this is a difficult task because the evidence file no longer exists, the witnesses also no longer exist. In principle, without any basis, this issue cannot be considered.

“It’s not that the industry doesn’t care or invest in this issue. We have established a council of industries to consider each case when resolving the backlog of documents” – said the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
