On April 24, Ho Chi Minh City Technical Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (Code: CII) organized the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM).

However, at 8:45 a.m., the congress had 134 delegates attending, representing more than 117 million shares, accounting for 37% of the voting shares. Therefore, the annual General Meeting of Shareholders is not eligible to proceed.

Over the past year, CII has repeatedly held unsuccessful Shareholders’ Meetings for the reason that there were not enough shareholders in attendance, despite the company’s announcement that it would donate money to encourage investors to participate (not mentioning the number of shareholders). specific money).

Explaining the reason why many failed congresses were held, Mr. Le Quoc Binh, General Director of CII, said that organizing a successful congress is very difficult. The company must notify shareholders at least 20 days, then send documents 21 days before the meeting, followed by finalizing the date. Extending the time leads to shareholders possibly selling their shares before the closing date of the list, and are no longer shareholders so they will not attend the meeting.

Mr. Binh also revealed that the current number of shareholders holding CII shares is 41,000 people, but today only 134 shareholders attended. The cost to organize a congress is also very expensive, the cost of sending shareholder invitation letters alone is up to 1 billion VND for each congress. CII General Director also said that at the next congress, CII may organize a lucky draw, worth several hundred million dong to attract more shareholders.
