After a period of working as a maid for Mr. N’s family, Ninh observed and learned that in the young couple’s bedroom there was a safe containing valuable assets, the key was always on the top of the safe. Ninh also saw that the homeowner trusted him very much and that they had loopholes in property management, so bad intentions arose.

In an attempt to steal property, the female maid went online to “find out” how to open the safe without a password. After that, Ninh quickly learned how to insert the main key and secondary key into the lock, turn both keys at the same time to open the safe.

Once she had mastered the skill, from early December 2022 to January 4, 2023, this female domestic maid repeatedly opened the safe and appropriated the homeowner’s property.

Specifically, the first time was on the afternoon of the first day of December 2022. Taking advantage of the fact that Mr. N and his wife were not home, Ninh took two keys from the top of the safe and used the instructions on the internet to quickly open the safe.

Searching inside found 3 taels of gold, a “lucky money” bag containing 1,400 USD and a white gold ring with diamonds, but the maid did not immediately steal the property but locked the safe, waiting for a more favorable opportunity. “disciple”.

The second time was on the afternoon of the end of December 2022, when Mr. N and his wife were away and using the same method as above, Ninh opened the safe, stole 1,400 USD in a “lucky money” envelope, then hid it in his personal bag. me. The next day, the defendant brought this foreign currency to exchange for 30 million VND.

The USD amount was converted into VND, the maid told the store owner to transfer it to her account. Ninh then loaded it all into his account to gamble by playing “sic Bo” on the internet.

The third time, taking advantage of the homeowner and his wife not being at home on the afternoon of January 1, 2023, the defendant quickly opened the safe and stole a round ring with the DOJI gold brand, weighing 2 taels, and 1 gold piece with the SJC brand. Weight 1 tael, hidden in personal bag.

After that, the female maid brought the above precious metals out and sold them for 14 million VND. The defendant asked someone to transfer this amount of money to his account, then continued to “shoot” to the “over/under” account.

The fourth time (a few days after the third time), Ninh opened the safe and took out the white gold ring with diamonds and the diamond inspection certificate from Mr. N and his wife. When the time was right, the defendant took it to a metal company. You can pledge 200 million VND. The defendant also “pumped” all this money into his gambling account.

The white gold ring with diamonds was stolen from Mr. N and his wife. The female maid then went on the internet to look for a buyer, then redeemed it and sold it to a man for 250 million VND. Later, this ring was bought and resold by many people for up to nearly 400 million VND.

On February 10, 2023, Mr. N and his wife discovered that all the assets in their safe had “disappeared”, so they reported it to the police. The next day, the maid who continuously stole the homeowner’s property surrendered.

According to the valuation conclusion, the total value of the young couple’s assets that were stolen by the female maid amounted to more than 700 million VND. During the investigation and trial, the defendant honestly confessed to the crime and said that all the money he illegally obtained was “spent” on gambling.

Also in the process of solving the case, the brother and sister of the female maid who stole all the consequences for those involved and Mr. N and his wife. The precious metals were also recovered and returned to the defendant. harmful. Therefore, these people did not ask the defendant to pay any additional compensation, and at the same time filed an application to reduce the defendant’s crime.

Opening court to consider the crime of Nguyen Thi Thuy Ninh, the Hanoi People’s Court determined that the indictment against the defendant was well-founded and in accordance with the law, so it decided to sentence the maid to 7 years in prison for the crime of “Theft”. asset”.
