On the afternoon of April 24, the trial of defendant Tran Qui Thanh and his two daughters, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich, ended questioning and entered the debate. Before the debate, the Procuracy representative presented his opinion on the case.

According to the representative of the Procuracy, the defendants Tran Qui Thanh, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich hold executive management roles in the company and have experience in business. But in order to hide the asset lending, project and share transfer contracts were made. The victims in the case suffered large sums of money over a long period of time.

Defendant Tran Qui Thanh was the one who directly worked, gave the money to the borrower and then informed his two children, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich, to do so… so he must bear the main responsibility for appropriating the property. worth 1,048 billion VND.

The Procuracy also noted many extenuating circumstances for defendant Thanh and his two daughters, such as honestly reporting, creating many jobs for workers, contributing to the local economy, and to the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic. 19, has many certificates of merit…

However, the fact that the defendant committed the crime two or more times is considered an aggravating circumstance for the defendant.

From the above reasons, the representative of the Procuracy requested the jury to sentence defendant Tran Qui Thanh to 9-10 years in prison, Tran Uyen Phuong to 5-6 years in prison and defendant Tran Ngoc Bich to 4-5 years in prison.

According to the indictment, from 2019-2020, through a number of brokers, Mr. Tran Qui Thanh and his two daughters lent money to a number of businesses and individuals. Defendant Thanh forced the borrower to make a contract to transfer the project, shares in the project, and real estate, with a value many times lower than the actual value of the property. Next, the defendant’s father and son will sign “resale commitments”, legal loan interest in the form of deposit receipts to buy back projects and real estate; promise that upon full payment of principal and interest, the property will be returned…

Following Mr. Thanh’s direction, his two daughters, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich, received the property transfer. However, Mr. Thanh and his father then carried out name transfer procedures to take control of the borrower’s assets. When the borrower fully fulfilled its obligation to repay principal and interest as agreed, Mr. Thanh and his son forced the property owner to pay an additional fine. Until the victim prepared enough money as requested, Mr. Thanh and his son still did not return the property as promised.
