In recent days, on the fanpages of some groups, status lines have appeared reflecting the irresponsibility of security guards at H.Xuan Truong Medical Center (Nam Dinh province).
The content of the status line reads: “At 1:00 a.m. on April 21, the car carrying emergency personnel at H.Xuan Truong Medical Center, when it arrived at the main gate, the gate was locked. Family members looked for security but no one opened it. After searching for a while and not finding the security guard, the family members and the doctor on duty at night had to use a cart to bring the patient in from the street. Knowing that in an emergency, time is an important factor in determining survival of the patient. I think that if this is a district medical center, if the security guard leaves his job, the Director of the Medical Center H. Xuan Truong must reconsider.”
Vehicles transporting patients to the emergency room are ‘helpless’ because the medical center locks the gate
After being published, the article made public opinion angry because of the lack of responsibility of the security guard while on duty.
On April 24, information from a leader of H. Xuan Truong Medical Center said that the center had just had an incident where the emergency patient reception gate was locked.
Specifically, at about 1:00 a.m. on April 21, when the car carrying a late-stage cancer patient to the emergency room at H. Xuan Truong Medical Center, the main gate was locked. After a period of searching and not finding the gatekeeper, the family and the night doctor had to put the patient in a wheelchair in a sitting position and move the patient to the emergency room via the pedestrian walkway.
An hour later, when it was determined that the patient needed to be transferred, the patient’s family and the doctor still did not see the security guard open the gate, so they continued to take the patient out the same way they did when they entered the emergency room.
According to this leader, H. Xuan Truong Medical Center currently has 3 gates to move in, the main gate in the middle (gate number 1) is always open to welcome patients for examination and emergency treatment. The patient is brought into this gate by his family.
“At the time of the incident, the security guard was still present at work but was fast asleep, leading to the above situation. Currently, the security guard has reported and explained and acknowledged the incident. After the review meeting, The Board of Directors of H. Xuan Truong Medical Center has decided to suspend work and consider stopping signing a contract with this security guard,” the representative of H. Xuan Truong Medical Center added.
