Previously, responding to the jury, defendant Tran Qui Thanh said he agreed to receive 35 billion VND and cancel transactions with Mr. Nguyen Van Chung (victim) to quickly resolve the case.

Regarding the transactions with Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh (victim), defendant Thanh agreed to Ms. Oanh’s requests. However, the defendant asked the court to consider the exact number.

Similarly, defendant Tran Uyen Phuong also agreed to receive money back and cancel the transactions. Defendants Phuong and Ngoc Bich admitted committing the crime as charged.

The indictment determined that, from 2019 to 2020, defendant Tran Qui Thanh and his two daughters, Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich, through brokers, lent money to many people at an interest rate of 3%/month.

Also according to the indictment, defendant Tran Qui Thanh did not make a loan contract with a mortgage but required the borrower to sign a contract to transfer assets and shares of the project to hide the nature of the loan. . When the borrower fully fulfilled its obligation to repay principal and interest under the original asset resale agreement, the defendants gave many reasons for not returning it.

The investigation agency determined that defendant Thanh and his two daughters committed a total of 4 property appropriation cases, worth more than 1,000 billion VND. Specifically, defendant Thanh appropriated two projects, Minh Thanh and Nhon Thanh, of Ms. Dang Thi Kim Oanh (Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Kim Oanh Company); 29 plots of land were separated from plot number 452 of Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, 4 plots of land of Mr. Lam Son Hoang and 2 plots of land of Mr. Nguyen Huy Dong.

Defendant Tran Qui Thanh hopes for leniency

After about 15 minutes of presenting his final words in court, defendant Tran Qui Thanh thanked the jury for the analysis so that the defendant could clearly understand his mistake. “The defendant grew up in an orphanage, went through a life of many ups and downs and events, had to pay the price but still always set an example for his children and associates,” the defendant said and said he was always responsible for his actions. my behavior.

Continuing to present, defendant Thanh said that he had worked with his family for decades, with the desire to contribute to society, create jobs for workers, do charity work, and had worked for 15 – 16 years. hours every day with the desire to build a strong corporation. Defendant Tran Qui Thanh thanked the employees for their constant efforts as well as expressed his condolences to his wife, who is over 70 years old and has not yet recovered from a stroke but still has to run the business during difficult times. Defendant Tran Ngoc Bich also thanked the jury. The defendant presented that he was born into a hard-working family and always tried to work to contribute to society and the country. The defendant was trained abroad, but always wanted to contribute to his homeland, with the goal of building a Vietnamese business capable of competing and reaching the world level.

“The defendant is very regretful about his mistake and hopes the jury will consider and be lenient towards his father, sister and defendant to have more opportunities to overcome it,” defendant Bich presented.

As the last person to say the last word, defendant Tran Uyen Phuong also thanked the jury and said “regret” for his mistake.
