At the meeting, the City People’s Committee voted to approve the project to arrange commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of the city.

Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Tran Dinh Canh said that the city maintains the district-level administrative units of 30 units, including 12 districts, 17 districts, and 1 town.

In Hanoi City, there are currently 579 communes, wards and towns. After arrangement, there are still 518 commune-level administrative units (including 337 communes, 160 wards, 21 towns). The number of commune-level administrative units reduced by arrangement is 61 units, including 46 communes and 15 wards in 20 districts and towns.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs said that 924,677 voters gave their opinions on the arrangement of administrative units in the city. In particular, the number of voters agreeing on the arrangement of administrative units in the city reached 97%; The total number of voters agreeing on the name of the new administrative unit after arrangement in the city reached 96.54%.

After the results of collecting voters’ opinions, the People’s Councils at all levels held a thematic meeting to discuss, vote and pass a resolution approving the policy of arranging administrative units in the area.

Among them, 87 communes and 5 towns held thematic meetings, the rate of People’s Council delegates attending the meeting agreeing to approve the policy reached 100%; There were 20 districts and towns that organized thematic meetings, the percentage of People’s Council delegates attending the meeting agreeing with the policy reached 100%.
