The North – South expressway project, Dien Chau – Bai Vot section, is 49.3 km long, passing through two provinces of Nghe An (44.4 km) and Ha Tinh (4.9 km). The project is implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a total investment of 11,157 billion VND. Of which, mobilized investor capital is about 5,090 billion VND and State capital participation is more than 6,060 billion VND. The project’s starting point follows the Nghi Son – Dien Chau expressway project at the National Highway 7 intersection and the ending point is at Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province, at the National Highway 8 intersection connecting Bai Vot highway. – Ham Nghi.

In May 2021, the project was started. At the request of the Ministry of Transport, by April 30, construction units must open from the beginning of the route to the intersection of National Highway 46B, the section passing Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An). In the photo, the intersection of Highway 46B is gradually being completed.

On April 25, at the construction site of the National Highway 46B intersection, hundreds of machines and workers were mobilized by the construction unit to deploy the final items before opening to traffic.

After completing the road base, workers proceed to asphalt the road surface.

Rollers continuously enter and exit the construction site to compact the plastic carpet.

In recent days, the weather in Nghe An has been extremely sunny, causing workers to always have to work hard and in hot weather.

A leader of Hoa Hiep Co., Ltd. said that this unit has mobilized maximum workers to construct projects on the route. The workers worked in 3 shifts of 4 crews to bring the project to the finish line on time.

Than Vu tunnel has a length of 1.13km through Than Vu mountain connecting Nghi Loc and Dien Chau districts (Nghe An). Up to now, the tunnel lining and tunnel foundation of the right branch from North to South have been completed by contractors.

Inside the tunnel, hundreds of workers are being mobilized to complete the final items.

Lighting systems and warning signs are being installed by contractors to facilitate traffic clearance.

In parallel with the completion of the inside of the tunnel, at both ends of the tunnel, contractors are installing a series of hard railings in the middle of the road and auxiliary warning sign systems.

Workers are urgently installing electric lighting systems on the road.

Working in hot weather made Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung’s face (52 years old, a worker on the construction site) drenched in sweat. Mr. Hung said that in recent days, workers have urgently completed the final construction work. “The heat is hard and tiring. But we’ve been working for many years, and now we only have a few days left to finish, so everyone is trying their best,” Mr. Hung said.

“The weather in Nghe An has been so hot these past few days that work has been difficult. But we encourage each other to try our best to keep up with the schedule. Thinking that traffic will open in a few days, everyone is happy to work,” said the worker. Cao Minh Luong (60 years old) shared while tying steel to pour concrete.

Working on the construction site, the weather is hot, so workers have to wear shirts with air-conditioning fans and cover their faces to work.

From the beginning of the route to the intersection of Highway 46B, construction units have mostly completed the installation of hard median strips, glare shields and signs.

The last days of the construction site are always crowded with workers working to bring the project to its destination on time.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot project will open to traffic 30 km from the beginning of the route before April 30. The remaining 19 km section has soft ground and needs time to wait for loading so it will be completed later.
