Market Pulse April 25: Foreign investors are the strongest net buyers of MWG, the banking group is disappointing

At the end of the session on April 25, VN-Index continued to stop around the 1,205 point mark. Foreign investors had the 4th consecutive session of net selling, this time reaching 200 billion VND.

Liquidity on April 25 session was low. Calculate separately VN-Index only reached an average of 12 trillion VND, lower than nearly 17 trillion VND in the previous session.

FPT (+2.58%), MWG (+2.87%) and VCB (+0.44%) are the three names that have the strongest impact on VN-Index. Also a bank, TCB (-1.81%), BID (-0.8%) and MBB (-1.33%) were disappointing. While FPT Help this index increase by 0.98 points TCB lose 0.7 points.

MWG (+2.87%) received the strongest net buying by foreign investors, amounting to 191 billion VND. Followed by PVS (0%), VND (+0.48%) and TPB (-0.28%). This group strongly net sold ETF FUEVFVND (+0.07%), DIG (-1.22%) and GAS (-0.8%) with 78 billion VND, 43 billion VND and 34 billion VND respectively.

1:45 p.m.: Call SAB’s name, MWG and FPT

The afternoon session continued to remain positive for retail stocks such as MWG or industry groups related to fast-moving consumer goods such as SAB and MSN. VN-Index is around the 1,205 point mark, with no significant changes.

At 1:45 p.m., SAB (+2.99%) had a good increase, perhaps partly thanks to positive signals from the 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders taking place the same morning. Beer industry stocks are around the 55,000 VND/share mark. This level has decreased continuously from the peak in 2017 and is trading around the lowest bottom since the beginning of 2020.

Despite facing some disadvantages from Decree 100, leaders SAB Still confident in setting a target of 13% growth in revenue and 8% in profit after tax compared to last year.

Retail industry stocks MWG (+2.29%) maintained the highest trading value and trading volume in the market, more than 872 billion VND and 16.4 million units respectively, and broke the most recent old peak of 53,200 VND/share created about 2 weeks.

The next positions belong to FRT (+1.66%), GVR (+0.17%) and CTR (-0.8%), 41%, 39% and 38% respectively. The strongest declines were AGG (+0.73%), HHV (-0.39%) and BCM (+0.57%), 22%, 17% and 16% respectively.

11:30: The market gradually loses steam

At the end of the morning session, investors’ trading sentiment showed a return to pessimism VN-Index decreased to around 1,203 points.

The information technology industry group, led by FPT (+3%) continued to lead the increase, recording 2.69% although not as positive as at the beginning of the session. On the contrary, the market was pessimistic towards the rubber product group as this industry group decreased the most by 2.89%. The codes SRC (-4.83%), DRC (-2.66%), CSM (-2.68%) were all sold strongly.

MWG (+1.72%) rose to the top in trading volume after the morning session with more than 10 million units. Followed by TCH (+0.96%), VIX (-1.74%) and DIG (-1.75%) with 8 million units, 7 million units and 6.5 million units respectively.

In terms of transaction value, MWG also leads with 559 billion VND. FPT, MSN (+1.64%), DIG and SSI (-1.12%) were the next names, recording VND 440 billion, VND 259 billion, VND 185 billion and VND 167 billion, respectively.

After the morning session, FPT continues to lead the price increase group in VN30 thanks to positive news about cooperation with NVIDIA. SAB also had a good increase of 2.8%. Followed by MWG, MSN and VCB (+1.43%).

CTG (-1.82%) after increasing 4.6% in the previous session is now falling the most VN30. There are also VRE (-1.77%), VJC (-1.45%) and TPB (-1.39%).

10:40: Foreign investors are net sellers

In the middle of the morning session, VN-Index Struggling and without a clear direction. Foreign investors net sold 283 billion VND. VCB and FPT are still prominent names.

By 10:30 a.m., the largest index in the Vietnamese market continued to struggle around 1,205 points. The trading value at this time is about 3.8 trillion VND, about 1,000 billion VND lower than the previous session.

VCB (+1.55%) exceeded FPT (+4%) had the biggest impact on the increase of VN-Indexfollowed by MSN (+1.79%). The opposite direction, turn CTG (-1.52%), HPG (-1.39%) and TCB (-1.06%) are the most disappointing names for investors.

This morning, MSN is holding a General Meeting of Shareholders with a lot of notable information.

Foreign investors continued to maintain net selling status for the 4th consecutive session. MSN, DIG and CTG are the strongest net selling names, 45 billion VND, 23 billion VND and 22 billion VND respectively. Meanwhile, this block bought net for MWG, VND and TPBrespectively 21 billion VND, 16 billion VND and 13 billion VND.

Open door: FPT continue to lead the market

VN-Index Opening session recorded around 1,210 points but quickly decreased to the closing level of the previous session. FPT continue to make the most significant contributions.

FPT (+4.58%) continued to increase in the first 30 minutes of the morning session. Information on cooperation with NVIDIA to invest in AI 200 factory million dollars helped this stock increase to the ceiling in the session on April 24.

In terms of volume, after the first 30 minutes, TCH (+1.29%) ranked first in the entire market, reaching more than 4.4 million units. Next is VIX (-1.16%) and SHB (0%) with more than 2 million units traded.

TCH also has the second highest transaction value with 76 billion VND, ranked second FPT 207 billion VND. SSI (-0.98%) and MWG (-0.57%) are the next names.
