Around 4:30 p.m., according to reporters Dan tri, on the roads around Mien Dong bus station, Binh Thanh district, traffic flow gradually increased. More than 5 p.m., roads such as Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, National Highway 13, and Dinh Bo Linh began to congest.

At Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, people inched forward to move. Many people after work “pack up” and go to the station to catch the bus to go home to celebrate.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh (30 years old, living in Binh Thanh District) said that this year she had an early and extended holiday, so she took advantage of going home to be with her family.

“Today is the last working day of the company. As soon as I got off work, I immediately went home to prepare my things to take the bus to Mien Dong bus station to go home for the holidays. Even though I tried to get to the station early, I couldn’t. escape traffic jams,” Ms. Linh said.

Not far away, National Highway 13 is also in a similar situation. At gate number 5, Mien Dong bus station, passenger cars continuously depart, the authorities are straining to regulate traffic.

A traffic police officer said that this area often has congestion during rush hours. Today, the number of vehicles increased dramatically by 3 times compared to normal days.

Meanwhile, at Mien Tay bus station, at 5:00 p.m., many people rushed to the bus station after work to catch the bus to go home to celebrate, causing a sudden increase in traffic on Kinh Duong Vuong street.

In the Phu Lam roundabout area (Binh Tan district), thousands of cars jostle each other, moving little by little. In the bus station, people were also busy lining up to buy tickets and waiting to board the bus.

“After my shift at 4:30 p.m., I went to the bus station to get a ticket and waited to prepare to depart for Can Tho at 6:30 p.m. I bought the ticket online so I didn’t have to queue,” Ms. Nhu Quynh (27 years old) shared.

Mr. Tran Van Phuong, Deputy General Director of Mien Tay Bus Station, said that the April 30-May 1 ceremony lasted 5 days, people came to the station to catch buses to go home, and there were many tourists. Through monitoring the ticket booking center, he expected that this afternoon there would be about 53,000 passengers with about 1,930 buses departing (27,500 passengers on weekdays).

Tomorrow (April 27), the number of passengers departing at the wharf will be about 61,000. According to Mr. Phuong, all car companies have prepared additional vehicles so there will not be a “sold out” situation during this holiday. Because customers buy tickets online, the carrier knows the number of people so they prepare relatively enough.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Director of Cat Lai Ferry Management Enterprise, said that this afternoon, people began to return to their hometowns and go on holidays, so the number of vehicles crossing the ferry increased, about 55,000 times. On April 27, there were about 65,000 visitors. On this occasion, the unit also brought 8 ferries to serve commuters.

“If there is congestion, we will proactively sell tickets from afar so passengers can cross the ferry as quickly as possible,” Mr. Thang said.
