Discipline of the Chairman and former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province

On April 26, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed the Prime Minister’s Decisions to discipline the Chairman and former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province.

Specifically, the Prime Minister decided to enforce discipline by removing the position of Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province from Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province due to violations and shortcomings. In work, the Secretariat has enforced party discipline; Disciplinary enforcement time is counted from the date of announcement of disciplinary decision No. 1117-QDNS/TW dated January 31, 2024 of the Secretariat.

The Prime Minister decided to enforce discipline in the form of a reprimand against Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province for the 2021-2026 term due to violations and shortcomings in her work and the Inspection Committee. The Central Committee has enforced party discipline; Disciplinary enforcement time is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1405-QD/UBKTTW dated January 31, 2024 of the Central Inspection Committee.

Previously, on January 24 and 25, 2024, in Hanoi, the Central Inspection Committee held its 36th meeting, concluding that the Party Committee of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province had violated the principle of democratic centralism, work regulations; lack of responsibility, lax leadership and direction for the Provincial People’s Committee and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in the management and implementation of a number of projects/contract packages run by the Joint Stock Company. Advancement International (AIC) and companies in the AIC ecosystem; Many party organizations and party members were disciplined and criminally prosecuted.

The above violations have caused very serious consequences, damage and risk of damage, wasted a lot of money and State assets, caused public anger, and negatively affected the reputation of the party organization and local authorities, to the extent that they must be considered and disciplined.

Responsibility for the above violations belongs to the Party Committee of Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee for the terms 2011-2016, 2016-2021. Among them, there are comrades: Nguyen Tu Quynh, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. The Central Audit Committee decided to carry out a disciplinary reprimand against Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang. At the same time, the Central Audit Committee requested the Politburo and the Secretariat to consider and discipline Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh.
