Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway is open, it only takes 5 hours from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang

On the morning of April 26, the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway, connecting to the Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet and Nha Trang – Cam Lam expressways, officially allowed traffic from both directions North – South.

According to the plan of the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Project Management Board, from 7:00 a.m. it will officially open to traffic, but from early morning, the operating unit has allowed vehicles to enter the expressway.

The number of vehicles entering and leaving the highway on the morning of April 26 was not crowded, the road was clear. It is expected that from the afternoon of April 26, the number of vehicles will gradually increase as people begin the 5-day holiday on April 30 and May 1. Driver Le Van Thanh (38 years old, Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan), said: “The Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway operates to help the distance from Phan Rang to Ho Chi Minh City take about 4 hours. Traders Selling seafood, tourist attractions will certainly flourish and develop.”

With the opening of the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway, the North-South expressway system from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang has been opened smoothly. From here, people and businesses can go from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang in only about 5 hours.

A representative of Deo Ca Group, a joint venture investing in the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway, said that from April 26, all two-way traffic on this expressway will be free. It is expected that after the holiday season, the operator will start collecting fees. Currently, the official toll collection time and fee level are still waiting for a decision from the Ministry of Transport.

In addition to the main Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway, auxiliary items such as intersections, protection corridors, road slopes, residential roads, signs, toll stations… are basically completed. The operation unit’s staff inspected and was on duty at the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway intersections on the morning of April 26 to guide and answer questions for vehicles. This is a highway that completely applies non-stop toll collection (ETC) technology. Vehicles do not have to stop when collecting tolls, saving time, reducing congestion and saving fuel.

A representative of Deo Ca Group said that when Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway is put into operation, there will be 3 toll stations installed at Du Long intersection (Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan), National Highway 27 intersection ( Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan) and the end station of route km133+700 (Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan).

Vung mountain tunnel is more than 2.2km long and is designed with two tunnels running in parallel, each tunnel is 14m wide. The tunnel on the right (from the north) serves phase 1. The tunnel on the right is for the line extension in phase 2. Tunnel width is 14m. After operation, Vung mountain tunnel will be the second largest road tunnel. 4 nationwide.

This category is implemented by Deo Ca Group. Currently, the tunnel serving phase 1 has basically completed the concrete lining of the tunnel and the road surface. The construction unit is connecting equipment in the tunnel to the operating center right at the southern tunnel entrance.

The route is designed according to expressway standards, in which the phased investment phase is 4 lanes, 17m roadbed width with a design speed of 90km/h.

Surveillance cameras installed along the route use AI technology to classify vehicles, recognize license plates, detect and warn of incidents and violations such as speeding, going in the wrong lane, going in the wrong direction…

To promptly resolve inadequacies and urgent needs, Deo Ca Group proactively built a temporary rest stop at Km113 (Nhi Ha commune, Thuan Nam district, Ninh Thuan province) to serve people in the area for free. while waiting for official station investment. The temporary rest stop is expected to be completed on April 28.

The Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway is more than 78km long, passing through 3 provinces of Khanh Hoa (5km), Ninh Thuan (63km) and Binh Thuan (12km). This is the last highway section connecting the arterial highway from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang.

Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway is invested by a joint venture of Deo Ca Group and Company 194 with a total capital of 8,925 billion VND in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP) contract. The route is designed according to expressway standards, in which the phased investment phase is 4 lanes, 17m roadbed width with a design speed of 90km/h.
