On the afternoon of April 26, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security informed, based on the investigation results of the case “Violation of regulations on management and use of state assets causing loss and waste” that occurred at Phan Thiet Beach Tourism Urban Area project in Phu Thuy ward, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province, invested by Rang Dong Joint Stock Company.

Previously, on April 23, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to prosecute the accused and criminal proceedings for 12 cases on the crime of “Violation of regulations on management and use State assets cause loss and waste.”

In particular, a decision was made to prosecute the accused and an order to arrest the accused for temporary detention in 5 cases, including: Le Tien Phuong, former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province; Xa Duong Thang, former Director of the Department of Construction, former Secretary of the Bac Binh District Party Committee; Do Ngoc Diep, former Chairman of Phan Thiet City People’s Committee; Ho Nhu Hai, former Deputy Director of Southern Information and Valuation Joint Stock Company – Binh Thuan Branch; Price appraiser and Le Anh Huy, former Head of General Administration Department of the Land Management Department of Binh Thuan province.

Decision to prosecute the accused and temporary detention orders for 6 cases including: Nguyen Van Phong, former Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, former Standing Committee of the Land Price Appraisal Council, former Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province; Ho Lam, former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Le Nguyen Thanh Danh, former Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Nguyen Thanh Cho, former Head of the Land Management Department of Binh Thuan province; Le Nam Hung, former Deputy Director of the Land Management Department of Binh Thuan province and Pham Duy Cuong, former Deputy Head of the Land Economics Department, Land Management Department of Binh Thuan province; Former Head of Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Phan Thiet City.

Currently, 6 defendants are all serving prison sentences in the case “Violation of regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss, waste and irresponsibility causing serious consequences”, which occurred at Project Tan Viet Phat 2 commercial, service and residential area project.

Issued a decision to prosecute the accused and a ban on leaving the place of residence for 1 case: Nguyen Xuan Phong, former Deputy Director of the Tax Department of Binh Thuan province.

After being approved by the Supreme People’s Procuracy (Department 5), on April 25 and 26, the Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security organized the execution of the order and decided on criminal proceedings in accordance with the law. laws.

The Police Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security determined that the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Province allowed the land use purpose of Phan Thiet golf course (62ha) to be converted to urban residential land (now Phan Thiet Beach Tourism Urban Area). , without going through a land auction, with a land fee value at the time of land allocation (2015) of only about 2.5 million VND/m2, causing a loss of hundreds of billions of VND from the state budget.
