Prosecute officials who accepted bribes from students taking driver’s license exams

On April 26, Bac Kan Provincial Police announced that they had executed an arrest warrant to temporarily detain Nong Xuan Binh (born 1977), Head of the Department of Transportation, Vehicles and Drivers Management, Department of Transport. Bac Kan province, on the charge of accepting bribes; prosecuted the accused and banned Vu Thi Thuy Linh (born 1987), an accountant from Bac Kan Transport, Service and Construction Joint Stock Company, from leaving her place of residence.

Initial investigation results determined that in 2022, Nong Xuan Binh received bribes so that 7 students studying at Bac Kan Transport, Services and Construction Joint Stock Company did not have to take the driving test. while still being granted a driver’s license.

At the same time, Binh also received bribes from the above company to facilitate the B2 driving test in 2022.

Defendant Vu Thi Thuy Linh acted to advise and assist Mr. Hoang Van Linh, Director of Bac Kan Transport, Services and Construction Joint Stock Company, to agree with driving teachers and collect tuition fees. The fees for students learning to drive a car class B2, course K46, in 2022 are higher than the tuition fees payable according to regulations.

The case is being further investigated.
