At Nuoc Ngam Bus Station at nearly 11 p.m., thousands of people were still lining up to buy tickets. Many people, after holding the ticket in hand, began their journey home at night. Children and adults carried bags in their hands and armpits to leave the capital.
Ticket counters continuously announce increased bus ticket sales. Bus station staff as well as bus operators work at full capacity to bring people home safely and smoothly.
Ms. Ha Thi Thuy, from Nam Dan district, Nghe An province said: “After returning from work, I immediately went with my family to Nuoc Ngam Bus Station to go home for the holidays. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed by the sight of thousands of people arriving at the bus station to leave Hanoi.”
Ms. Thuy booked a ticket with the same seat number a week ago. When she gets to the station, she can get on the bus to go home immediately.
Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, from Ha Tinh province shared: “For people far from home, every day being able to return home early is very happy. People choose more night tickets because they get on the bus, get some sleep, and then be home the next morning.”
According to Mr. Nam, driving home at night saves time, is convenient at work, and allows you to return home earlier.
Mr. Trinh Hoai Lam – Deputy Director of Nuoc Ngam Bus Station said: “We have planned a scenario for a sudden increase in passengers in advance. Currently, the station is using additional vehicles to relieve passengers, ensuring enough vehicles to serve the people.”
According to Mr. Lam, all passengers will be cleared from the wharf around 00:00. The next morning the first buses will start leaving at 5:30 am.
