According to data from Box Office Vietnam, the work only earned nearly 350 million VND after a week in theaters. Currently, the number of screenings and tickets sold per day of the work is very low.
“Fragile Flower” continues to be a failure for Mai Thu Huyen.
Regarding this failure, Mai Thu Huyen affirmed that her new work was suppressed. “We had to invest a lot in a film, with the participation of hundreds of people, many artists from Vietnam to abroad, and at the same time participating in many international film festivals, winning awards, so But being treated like that.”she said.
However, most audiences think that the film lacks depth and is corny in many details, leading to boredom. This is also one of the reasons why the film failed in the Vietnamese market.
Kieu (2021)
Before Fragile flower, Mai Thu Huyen has had many “falls” at the box office, including Kieu (2021).
Once a highly anticipated work adapted from The Tale of Kieu by Nguyen Du, however the work disappointed the audience. Under the direction of Mai Thu Huyen, Kieu annoying because of the clumsy storytelling in addition to the lazy plot construction. Above all, the film lost points because of the awkward acting of the characters.
The work also received many criticisms from both audiences and experts. Most rated the film’s content as unattractive, with many details being too distorted, losing the spirit and core values of the original.

Lost World (2014) and American Dream (2017)
Lost world is a film project advertised as the first film about bisexual themes. As a producer, Mai Thu Huyen has the courage to put her trust in new faces. She chose Binh An, who was just a hot boy on the internet, to play one of the three main roles.
Located at the center of the film, playing the role of the resolver of many conflicts, Mai Thu Huyen’s female lead left the audience confused because of her superficial acting and monotone reading.
Both films produced by Mai Thu Huyen were labeled disasters.
America dream released two years later continued to be a setback for the filmmaker. This time, the problem comes from a confusing script with a series of incredibly absurd details. The film takes on a medical theme, but throughout the entire work, the characters are only busy chasing love stories.
In this project, Mai Thu Huyen gave the director’s chair to Davina Hong Ngan. The female director was silent for a long time before returning White Valentine (2016) – the film lost heavily when released in theaters.
Despite the participation of Binh Minh, the film is still labeled a disaster. The film was criticized for having corny content, many errors, and overly dramatic and cheesy details.
