Ly Hai’s flip 7 created a new record, surpassing Tran Thanh’s Mai

--

Turn over 7 Filming will start from December 2023 for a month and a half, set in Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Hanoi. Although it has not yet officially premiered, the film recorded its first achievement when it became the Vietnamese film with the highest number of pre-sale tickets in the first 6 days of all time with more than 105,000 tickets sold.

Ly Hai shared: “A new record for Turn over 7 recorded right before the first screenings took place even though it was only on sale 6 days in advance. This number was definitely created thanks to the love and trust of the audience. Ly Hai and the crew would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

During the premiere Flip 7: One wish, Ly Hai surprised everyone by inviting his biological mother to attend. Due to her advanced age and difficulty moving, she was in a wheelchair and was helped onto the red carpet.

Ly Hai’s 99-year-old mother came from the countryside to celebrate her son’s movie debut.

According to Ly Hai, this is the part of the film he made to dedicate to his biological mother – Mrs. Pham Thi Hai (99 years old). On stage, the male director thanked his mother and family for helping him achieve his current success. Before that, he was nervous because he didn’t know if his mother could attend.

Ly Hai’s mother’s memory is not good, so she sometimes forgets her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. The male director and his wife, when they have free time, often take their children to visit their mother and cherish the time with her. His mother was also the inspiration for him to build the image of Mrs. Hai – a devoted, altruistic woman with 5 children in the film.

“I wanted to do something for my family, especially my mother. But until now Ly Hai has been able to make it a film about family and motherhood. I am very happy to introduce my mother, siblings, and grandchildren to the red carpet for the first time in my life,” he said.

Ly Hai said he made this film because of his children’s wishes as well as his desire to make a work that the whole family can watch together.

He said that in previous parts, he had to ask his children to go out when there was a sensitive scene. “My children often ask me why I don’t make a movie that you and my friends can watch,” the male director said.

Share with VietNamNet, Ly Hai said that after 7 parts of the movie, he is used to the pressure so he is not as worried or scared as before. The male director once “lost sleep” because of clashes with foreign blockbusters. Ly Hai is proud that the film has built audience trust.

“The pressure here is created by myself. For other people, maybe when making a movie, it’s easy to just go through one genre through parts. As for me, I change with each season, like in part 7, I explore a completely different topic. I’m stressed not knowing whether people will like this story or not, whether this type of film will be accepted or not,” he said.

Flip 7: One wish revolves around the life of Mrs. Hai (artist Thanh Hien), an elderly mother alone in a house in a remote mountainous area, while her children are each on their own. One time, Mrs. Hai unfortunately had an accident, her leg was in a cast, and she couldn’t do anything by herself. The five children each have their own concerns, and it is difficult to choose one person to take care of their mother. The problems from here are revealed with many stories in each family.

Turn over 7 Gathering a large cast such as: Quach Ngoc Tuyen, Thanh Thuc, Dinh Y Nhung, Tiet Cuong, Truong Minh Cuong… Along with a cast of veteran artists such as Thanh Hien, Manh Dung, Thanh Dau.
