People’s Artist Quoc Anh was born in 1962, from Thanh Hoa. He is a veteran face of the Vietnamese rowing village. Since the 1990s, he has won many Gold Medals in different roles.

People’s Artist Quoc Anh used to be a Cheo actor at the Vietnam Cheo Theater. After that, he was invited to Hanoi Cheo Theater and held the position of Deputy Director. In 2018, he was appointed Acting Director of Hanoi Cheo Theater by the Hanoi People’s Committee until his retirement in August 2022.

“I’m not as stubborn as many people think. I’m retired but I don’t stop working, I still perform. However, I still have choices, I can’t be as easy-going as when I was young,” he shared.

The male artist said that although he came from a Cheo background, the audience remembers him more when standing on the comedy stage with roles such as: Chief Ly, Bad Teacher, Ly Lac… For him, the recognition of the audience is important. For many years, this is a gift for my life as an artist.

“Perhaps, I have a good acting ability so many people remember me. Indeed, with comedy, fame comes faster and I don’t deny that thanks to comedy tapes, people know me more.

Before, I also acted as a clown, but clearly when I came out on the public stage, the impact and spread were much faster. But I think that on any stage, artists should do their best,” he confided.

People’s Artist Quoc Anh added that Cheo is currently still an art that chooses an audience, so he always hopes that at some point, the audience will love Cheo like they love other subjects, in order to sell tickets.

“Currently, Cheo art is still subsidized by the State, artists’ salaries are not high. As long as artists work, they still love their job and are truly passionate. If we can retain young people, that will be happiness.” of theaters.

“People say that the greatest joy in old age is spending time with your children and grandchildren, but my situation is a bit difficult in not being able to have children. Before, when I was 30 or 40 years old, I thought, felt heavy-hearted and also blamed myself. hook yourself up a lot.

But at this age, to me, everywhere is family, even my own children I have always treated like my own children. The important thing is that we protect, share and love each other to live. I am what I am today because my wife sacrifices and shares,” he confided.

“I live and eat very simply. I only like to eat boiled tofu dipped in salt, sometimes I can eat it all day.
