The man in the mental asylum has a gifted singing voice

--

Nearly 2 years ago, the online community was stirred by the voice of a man singing from a mental asylum. Singer Lam Truong expressed his admiration for that voice when performing the song “Forever” that he performed many years ago.

Soon after, the man’s identity was discovered by netizens. His name is A Doan (born 1990, from Kon Tum), lives in Ham Rong mental camp (also known as Ha Huu Phuoc mental camp) in Pleiku city (Gia Lai).

Not long ago, YouTuber Phong Bui went to the mental hospital to visit Mr. Doan as well as the patients there, and at the same time do charity work – cooking delicious food.

Mr. A Doan

Taking advantage of the time when Mr. A Doan was still awake, the male YouTuber asked about his current life. He confided: “I know I’m famous on social networks, I see people saying my singing clips get a lot of compliments. I’m very happy, I never expected that I would attract attention from the online community.”

Then the man slowly lifted the dark glasses to his forehead, held the guitar – he played while singing in a highland but no less emotional voice. Wherever he sang, his “colleagues” in the camp applauded.

“There are a lot of people here with voices like mine! We live together as a family, choosing music for comfort as well as entertainment. In the morning, Uncle Phuoc gave us noodles, medicine, and then it was free time, meaning anyone could do whatever they wanted. We don’t know what to do except sing and have fun.

I see everyone sings well and knows how to play the guitar! There’s a guitar in here, you guys just take turns playing and singing.” Mr. A Doan confided.

Up to now, Mr. A Doan has been in Ham Rong mental hospital for over a decade. He once ran away to go home with his parents a few times in the hope of living next to relatives. But his parents were poor and could not afford medicine, food or clothing. So he went back to the camp and asked Uncle Phuoc to take care of him.

At home, my parents are old and poor, so there is no rice or noodles for me to eat. I was too tired to walk, so I came back here to take refuge with Uncle Phuoc.

He takes very good care of his brothers, every morning he eats noodles, and eats rice with meat and fish for lunch and dinner. Every day a charity group comes by, we can improve our meals, such as stir-fried meat noodles, grilled meat noodles… Everyone loves it, so we just hope the sponsors come here again and again.” Mr. A Doan said.

As soon as he finished speaking, the man from Kon Tum suddenly became sad as if thinking of something. Then he sighed sadly and sadly: “If you don’t get used to it, you won’t be able to stand it! I’ve seen brothers fight over a cigarette. After finishing, everyone talked again and became close to each other like family.

Truly a psychopath, very different from normal people. Our fate is so unfortunate, we keep escaping from the camp and then have to come back here.”

When talking about the reasons that led to having to go to a mental hospital, Mr. Doan once clearly shared that: “To be honest, my childhood past has been through many things. When I went to high school, I won first prize in the 10th grade singing competition. Some friends were jealous and hit me in the head with a guitar, so I had to come here for treatment.” .

It is known that Ham Rong mental camp was founded by a man named Ha Huu Phuoc. Currently, this place receives 120 patients, receiving free care. “Some people were abandoned by their families, some people’s families didn’t have enough money to take care of them so they brought them here. Uncle Phuoc will cover all medicine, food, and living expenses for everyone.”Mr. Phong Bui said.
