Dzung Yoko and his works in the photo book Spring Summer Autumn Winter

After 4 years since the photo book and exhibition Dyadcreative director Dzung Yoko has just released his sixth artbook titled Spring, summer, autumn, winter (Spring Summer Autumn Winter) and organized an exhibition of the same name in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the most challenging creative topic of his career as it took 4 years to complete with many trips throughout Vietnam.

Dzung Yoko discusses beauty

Dzung Yoko admired the country’s natural landscape while releasing the mysteries in her soul, taking pictures of models with whom she found harmony in art.

Not all beauty queens are beautiful. There are many people who try to be beautiful and become beauty queens. But there aren’t many people who just stand there and are beautiful like Tieu Vy or Thuy Tien.

Book Spring, summer, autumn, winter Not only does it capture the beauty of spring in Trang An, summer in Saigon, autumn in Hanoi, and winter in Hue, but also the diverse beauty of Vietnamese people.

The beauty queens or celebrities that Dzung Yoko has photographed include My Tam, Tang Thanh Ha, beauty queen Tieu Vy… He thinks they still have their own unique beauty to discover. For him, beauty is defined by people, but artists must have many different ways of seeing beauty.

Dzung Yoko said: “You are so beautiful and outstanding, you competing to win a beauty queen is also the right choice in terms of business and commerce, it’s okay. But in Vietnam, the media leads us a bit too much.” beauty.

Beauty is not just about having a perfect face or body. Many people are not as beautiful as a beauty queen, so they change their appearance to become a beauty queen, and add a lot of accessories to always look beautiful. The hair is not thick enough, so too many hair strands are attached to make the hair bouncy.

I don’t like trying too hard to be beautiful and I’ve never taken pictures of those people.”

Likes beauties with emotions and personalities

In recent years, what is noticeable about Dzung Yoko is that he has gradually discovered more diverse beauty of models and people in general through photo sets. He revealed that there were many commercial fashion photo sets he completed well, but he did not see them as a new milestone in artistic creativity.

On the contrary, he passionately pursued trips and took photos around the country, finding creative inspiration from the beautiful natural landscape of Vietnam and the diverse beauty of the Vietnamese people.

Regarding models, there are models who on the outside are not stunningly beautiful – very skinny, very skeletal, but when they go into a photo shoot, they act “dazzling”, bringing both their emotions and personality into their performance.

Such models have a hard time becoming more famous in Vietnam because events and commercial advertisements require beauty that is more popular with the masses, so they sometimes feel self-conscious.

“But when you take pictures, you reveal all those emotions. People cannot hide their emotions when taking pictures.

There are people who are depressed, and when they take pictures, their sparkling eyes are very beautiful.

I don’t group all human beauty into being beautiful like a beauty queen or a model.

People when they grow up have their own feelings, including natural factors, and they are all very beautiful” – Dzung Yoko analyzed.

Now I know that this country is beautiful, glorious, and tolerant

Creative director Dzung Yoko recounts the process of making the photo book Spring Summer Autumn Winter (Spring Summer Autumn Winter):

“I left the city and returned to nature to release my cramped and cramped feelings. Nature did not disappoint me, opening its arms to embrace me so I could live true to my true self. I still know the scenery Our country is beautiful, but now it’s so gloriously beautiful and tolerant…

I want to convey the idea of circulation, from heaven and earth to the soul, that all things have birth and death and time will always flow. No suffering or happiness lasts forever, each moment comes only once.”
