I was not favored by Ly Hai when filming ‘Face Off 7’

--

Quach Ngoc Tuyen confirmed that he participated in the casting and was suitable for the new role chosen by Ly Hai Turn over 7

I saw the role in Turn over 7 is your only chance

* Hello Quach Ngoc Tuyen! What was the fate for him to take on the role of Tu Hau in the movie project? Flip 7: One wish by Ly Hai?

Actor Quach Ngoc Tuyen: The fate is because I went to the casting! I am lucky to be able to collaborate with Mr. Ly Hai on many projects, but most of them are guest roles, and every role requires casting. This time, when I heard about it, Mr. Hai found an actor for me Turn over 7, I went to the casting and did everything Mr. Hai asked. Luckily I was chosen to play Tu Hau. When I heard from Mr. Hai that I passed the role, I burst into tears of joy. Besides being able to participate in a project that already has a brand name, I’m also happy to be able to work with a thoughtful and enthusiastic director, Mr. Ly Hai.

Actually, I have always longed to one day take on a leading role, a good role in a well-invested, kind and serious film project. Every day I burn incense and pray for the opportunity to play a leading role like that. Luckily, my prayers to the Patriarch were fulfilled and I was able to take on the role of Tu Hau. Like the movie name is Flip 7: One wishthis role is like my wish came true.

* Are there any favors for Quach Ngoc Tuyen when participating in this project of Ly Hai?

– Actually, up to this point, I confidently affirm that Mr. Ly Hai has not shown me any favors at all. It’s all thanks to my ability and efforts. I always try my best through each project, maybe Mr. Hai’s team sees that and I also fit the role. As for favor, I think there is none, I haven’t felt it yet. Because Mr. Hai works very clearly, he must really fit the role and act well for Mr. Hai to choose him, not because of acquaintance or relationship.

* When you accepted this project, what principles did director Ly Hai set for the actors?

– Mr. Hai did not specify specifically what the principles were. But as an actor, I have to be self-aware. Firstly, the background must be something like that, no scandal, no rise from noise. Although Mr. Hai didn’t need to say it, I noticed that all the actors in the movie were like that. I have to know how to maintain my own image, try my best in my role, not be late and leave early and be serious during the project implementation process.

* Does the success of previous films put Quach Ngoc Tuyen under pressure when participating in this project?

– At first I had pressure, I was afraid that if I chose the role but didn’t do it well, everyone in the film crew would be disappointed. Second, I think this is my only chance. If this character does not perform well, he will not have other opportunities. Not only Mr. Hai, but other directors and producers will have a bad impression of him when they look at him. I am aware of that so I always try my best through each segment. Even when it comes to the filming location, I’m afraid that when the movie is shown, the audience will see that I’ve been over-acted. I have to urge my co-stars to act as realistically as possible, so that the audience believes in the story in the film. Hopefully the audience will see the efforts of me and my fellow actors when watching.

* How do you feel Ly Hai is different in real life and as a film director?

– In real life, Mr. Hai is very easy-going, we can play together any way we like. But when it comes to work, Mr. Hai does his job well, very seriously and kindly. At work, Mr. Hai is always meticulous, not just doing it for the sake of it. When filming a segment and he is not satisfied, even though it takes a lot of time, Mr. Hai still has to finish filming until he is satisfied. Mr. Ly Hai believes that when working on a project, you must respect the audience and create a quality product so that it can be well received. That’s what I learned from him.

I once thought about quitting my job because I thought the Patriarch did not choose me

* Compared to many colleagues of the same age, it seems like your career path is quite uneventful?

– I can see that, it’s true that compared to my colleagues of the same age, I walk very slowly. But from the beginning, I determined to go slowly but surely, just trying to walk on my own two feet to be more sustainable. However, sometimes when I see my colleagues leaving, I feel a little sad. Because of that feeling of sadness, I looked back at myself and saw that I was lacking something to make me try harder. I see colleagues around me, some are very good actors, some are charming or have outstanding beauty. I believe that nothing is too late, if you keep trying, the Patriarch will see. Through each project and each role, I want when people invite me to feel secure, from my acting to my working style.

* Looking back at his acting career, it’s clear that Quach Ngoc Tuyen also took on bad projects. Do you think that sometimes participating in such projects causes your reputation to be more or less affected?

– I also see this myself. Maybe because my name is not enough to have the right to choose the project. Partly because of food and money, needing to make a living, the other part is that I also don’t know how people will work in that project. When I received the script, I thought the role was okay, but when I went on set, it was completely different. If the producer doesn’t work properly and calls for investment to make money, then we have to bear it. I cannot interfere with that. Because at that time I had already signed the contract, it couldn’t be changed. Besides, when making a movie, it is difficult for anyone to know in advance which project will win or lose. Even when participating in projects, I know they will definitely “break” but I still have to try my best within my ability.

* Does participating in poorly rated movies make you discouraged about your career?

– From those unsuccessful projects, I tried even harder. That’s why I always ask the Karma Team to let me participate in quality, serious and meticulous projects. As for being frustrated with my job, I’ve experienced that feeling before. At that time, I felt like I couldn’t do anything so I felt sad. At that time, I was performing on the New Smile stage. Huu Loc suddenly passed away, leaving me uncertain. I asked myself if there was a time when the Patriarch did not choose me, did not let me continue in this profession.

I once thought about quitting my job, thought about it and cried all night. But just the next day, I regained my spirit because I felt so bad, bad for myself and Mr. Huu Loc. I have followed the profession for many years and have been educated. Maybe because of Mr. Loc’s death, I no longer pursue the profession. From then on, I decided to stick to my profession and work hard to do everything. Whatever you say, in the past I was not successful and it was partly my fault. In the past, I loved my job but felt it wasn’t enough. I’m still a playful boy, not yet focusing 100% of my energy on it. But after a series of incidents, I realized that I had to focus and try my best. I believe that as long as you love your job and try your best, you will be treated by the Team.

* After more than 20 years in the profession, do you feel that the Patriarch has treated you yet?

– Until now, I am confident that my ancestors hurt me. Not only the Patriarch but also my colleagues in the profession love me very much. From the house, car, family or business, it’s all thanks to the profession, thanks to the Patriarch for giving it to me. Everything I have now comes from the money I spent filming, performing, then scrimping and saving. Even the audience’s love for me, being able to have “Vi Ca” like me now is all from acting.

* Does performing and doing business at the same time make it difficult for you to balance and fully focus on art?

– For me, up to this point, acting is still the top priority. Whatever I do, I prioritize acting and filming. My business has never affected my art work, but there has always been priority. Because I have a manager to support and organize my business, I don’t have to worry. I’m confident that I really love my job, just 3 days of not being able to go to work makes me feel very uneasy.

* Thank you actor Quach Ngoc Tuyen for sharing!
