Not only maintaining the growth rate, the livestock models in the direction of modern, closed, bio-secure, and the link chain from production to consumption have also been expanded, helping farmers to increase the value of their products. products in a sustainable way, mainly concentrated in 4 northern districts including Bau Bang, Phu Giao, Dau Tieng and Bac Tan Uyen. Chicken raising currently has 149 farms, including companies investing in breeding chickens, egg laying and broiler chickens, with a total herd of 8.3 million heads. Duck farming currently has 44 farms with 517,000 heads. Pig raising has 253 farms with a total herd of nearly 700,000 heads. In addition, the urban agriculture model has also developed, mainly raising ornamental fish, turtles, porcupines, snakes, lizards, bears… with 2,870 households investing with 16,000 children of all kinds.

Thanks to the proactive work of preventing and controlling epidemics in livestock and poultry and diseases in livestock and poultry herds has been basically controlled; especially thanks to the promotion of application of science and technology in production, especially in the production of breeds, the quality of livestock products is increasingly improved, ensuring food safety and hygiene. At the same time, according to the authorities, the price of live pork for slaughter tends to increase in the last months of 2022, contributing to reducing cost pressure on livestock production facilities, and households are assured of re-herding. , prepare food sources to meet the increasing demand at the end of the year.

To maintain stable livestock production in the province, the agricultural sector and localities have strengthened management; carry out the propaganda and dissemination of the Law on Livestock and related documents to livestock breeders; step up the forecasting and forecasting of the market, determining the demand for livestock products in the market to give warnings and adjust the production plan in accordance with the requirements of the market.

Mr. Tran Phu Cuong, Director of the Provincial Sub-Department of Livestock, Veterinary and Fisheries, said that it is expected that by the end of 2022, the livestock herd has basically reached the set plan. The main source of products to meet the consumption needs of the people in the province and sell to other markets.

Currently, the agricultural sector is guiding farmers to apply technical advances in seeds and feed, implement biosafety breeding processes, and ensure disease safety in order to limit risks.
