According to the jury, the defendants’ actions violated the health and property of others and disturbed social order and safety. At the same time, among the defendants in the case, there are many defendants with bad backgrounds, some defendants are under 18 years old, so when sentencing, the circumstances will be divided and considered.
Regarding civil liability, the victim Lam Thanh Long, his family, and the defendants’ representatives agreed to compensate 311 million VND, so the defendants are responsible for compensating Mr. Long for this amount.
Regarding the amount of damage due to destroyed property of 5.4 million VND, the victim has received the full amount of compensation so he does not request compensation for damages.
According to the indictment, in early June 2020, Ho Chi Linh (Tuan B’s junior – a gangster in Binh Tan district) passed through the school gate and saw two groups of female students fighting, so he stopped to watch and was chased and beaten by a group of young men. Suspecting that Nguyen Xuan Thanh’s group had beaten her, Linh called a group of friends to gather in large numbers, preparing weapons to take revenge.
On the night of June 4, 2020, Linh and a friend brought 20 pitchforks and machetes to the place where the group was gathering in District 6, gave one to each person, then dragged them to Thanh’s house to chase and slash this person, causing injuries. When the opponent ran into the house to hide, Linh and his accomplices broke two camera receivers, two glass fish tanks…
Being suddenly beaten, Thanh angrily went to Long Gia Facebook group and invited many people to bring weapons to Vo Van Kiet Avenue to look for revenge but could not find him. Thanh then asked Duong Dai Tri to mobilize more people and prepare weapons to help him.
This group borrowed an acquaintance’s factory in Binh Chanh district as a gathering place; borrowed 2 three-wheeled trucks to bring the murder weapon here; Buy orange shirts to give to team members to easily distinguish them from opponents.
Knowing that Thanh’s group was looking for revenge, the next day, Linh and Tuan B continued to invite more people and borrowed the location of a garage in Binh Tan district as a gathering place. This group borrowed a truck to transport the weapon from the storage place to the garage to give it to their accomplices.

On the evening of June 5, 2020, Tri “Nham” led Thanh’s group and more than 60 people wearing orange shirts, carrying weapons, ran through many routes and then went to Oc Huong restaurant (An Lac A ward) to look for Tuan B’s group. The incident caused chaos on many streets and was recorded by security cameras.
At the snail restaurant, Tri “Bullshit” group rushed in and slashed Mr. Lam Thanh Long (31 years old) while this customer was on the phone because he thought he was recording a video, causing the victim to suffer 35% injuries. After destroying the shop’s furniture, the group left.
Receiving news that Tri’s group did not come to the meeting point but went to the snail shop to destroy it, Tuan B’s group brought along weapons and went to find and fight. However, when this group gathered in Binh Chanh district, they were rounded up by the criminal police.
