The People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa province has just sent a document to airlines including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines requesting to restore and increase the frequency of operating flights from Tho Xuan Airport, Thanh Hoa province to other ports. domestic aviation.

Accordingly, to promote attracting domestic and foreign investors and tourists to Thanh Hoa province and to serve the travel needs of the people well and so that people can soon plan to move in the near future, The People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa province requested the above airlines to restore operations of routes that are temporarily suspended such as: Thanh Hoa – Can Tho, Thanh Hoa – Nha Trang, Thanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot, Thanh Hoa – Da Lat, Thanh Hoa – Phu Quoc…

This locality also wants airlines to develop plans to increase flights on the Thanh Hoa – Ho Chi Minh City route; arrange night flight hours to meet passengers’ travel needs; Operate flight schedules to minimize flight delays and cancellations, especially during the peak Tet holiday in 2024.

Tho Xuan airport was put into civil aviation operation in February 2013, initially operating 5 flights/week with 1 route Thanh Hoa – Ho Chi Minh City operated by Vietnam Airlines.

After 10 years, Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines have operated 9 domestic routes connecting Thanh Hoa with Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Can Tho, Da Nang, Buon Ma Thuot, Phu Quoc , Binh Dinh, Con Dao, Da Lat, has contributed to creating favorable travel conditions for people, promoting the province’s socio-economic development.

During the peak period of Tet and Summer 2023, airlines have operated flights connecting Thanh Hoa with Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Buon Ma Thuot, and Da Lat.

However, up to now, Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air are operating one route Thanh Hoa – Ho Chi Minh City with a frequency of 8-10 flights/day (of which: Vietnam Airlines flies 2-3 flights/day, Vietjet flies 2-3 flights/day). 6-8 flights/day); Pacific Airlines only operates during peak times during Tet;

Bamboo Airways temporarily suspended operations from the end of October 2023 and has now resumed operations with a frequency of 3 flights/week and will maintain regular daily flights in the near future.
