On November 20, a leader of Ha Tan commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province, said that a work accident at a quarry had just occurred in the area, killing one person.

The victim was identified as Mr. VVD (born 1967, residing in hamlet 5, Ha Chau commune, Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa). Mr. D. is the mine owner of Loan Duong Joint Stock Company, where the incident occurred.

Accordingly, at about 3:30 p.m. on November 19, Mr. D. was driving an excavator to clean up the yard in his family’s quarry area in Ha Tan commune when suddenly large blocks of rock collapsed, crushing the excavator cabin, causing him to D. died on the spot.

According to the leaders of Ha Tan commune, this quarry has closed and stopped mining a long time ago in order to expand the scope of the mine. At the time of the incident, Mr. D. was the only one in the mine.

The case is being clarified by the authorities.
