Overseas Vietnamese defender Thanh Tiep said goodbye to Vietnam and returned to Europe to play futsal

Pham Thanh Tiep is not a strange name to Vietnamese fans. Born in 1996 in Slovakia, Thanh Tiep grew up at the training center of Banik Prievidza Club at the age of 12. He played for the Slovakian team in the 2017 season. This overseas Vietnamese defender once played football in the V.League.

Before playing for Ha Tinh coach in the 2023 season, Thanh Tiep played for SHB Da Nang in V.League 2019. However, the mark that this overseas Vietnamese defender left on the teams he played for was not much.

Thanh Tiep only played 2 matches for SHB Da Nang in the 2019 season. Meanwhile, in the past 2023 season, Thanh Tiep did not even play a minute for Ha Tinh. Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong still has positive reviews about his student’s training attitude and professionalism.

Having no place in the V.League, Thanh Tiep returned to Slovakia to play futsal

Thanh Tiep’s biggest strength is his abundant physical foundation and enthusiastic playing style. However, the Nghe military leader also frankly admitted that it is difficult for Slovak overseas Vietnamese defenders to compete with teammates playing in the same position.

After the season ended, Thanh Tiep proactively expressed his wish to liquidate the contract and return to Slovakia for family reasons last August. Recently, the fan page “Vietnam Football Scout” said that the former Ha Tinh player has switched to futsal. The overseas Vietnamese defender has many skills to adapt and fit this indoor soccer game.
