On November 1, the Prime Ministers of the two countries held online talks and approved a Joint Declaration establishing the Vietnam – Denmark Green Strategic Partnership with 10 groups of comprehensive cooperation areas. , is meaningful not only to the sustainable development of Vietnam, but also demonstrates the commitment and determination of the two countries in joining hands to solve one of the biggest challenges facing humanity today, which is climate change. climate change and environmental degradation.

Previously, the visit to Vietnam by the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark in early November 2022 focused on discussing cooperation in the energy field, with the participation of 36 leading Danish businesses.

Economic – trade – investment cooperation over the past 10 years has developed strongly, achieving very encouraging results. Total bilateral trade turnover in the past 10 years has increased nearly twofold, from 480 million USD in 2013 to nearly 900 million USD in 2022.

By the end of December 2022, Denmark had 155 investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of more than 1.787 billion USD, including the project to build the first carbon neutral plant in the world worth more than 1.7 billion USD. billion USD of the Lego Group, or Pandora’s project worth about 160 million USD using renewable energy, expected to attract more than 6,000 workers.

From a multilateral perspective, Vietnam and Denmark regularly support each other at international and regional forums such as the United Nations, Asia-Europe Cooperation Forum (ASEM), ASEAN, EU, Partnership for Growth.
