The Ministry of Transport has just announced a list of ports belonging to Vietnamese seaports. The new regulations divide ports by locality instead of each region as in the old regulations.

According to the new decision, Vietnam’s seaports will have 296 ports.

Specifically, Quang Ninh has 14 berths, Hai Phong has 50 berths, Nam Dinh 3 berths, Thai Binh 2 berths, Thanh Hoa 10 berths, Nghe An 7 berths, Ha Tinh 6 berths, Quang Binh 4 berths, Quang Tri 2 berths. , Thua Thien Hue 2 berths, Da Nang 8 berths, Quang Nam 3 berths, Quang Ngai 8 berths, Binh Dinh 4 berths, Phu Yen 1 berth, Khanh Hoa 17 berths, Ninh Thuan 3 berths, Binh Thuan 6 berths.

In the southern region, Ba Ria – Vung Tau seaport has 47 wharves, Binh Duong 1 wharf, Dong Nai 18 wharves, Ho Chi Minh City 40 wharves, Long An 3 wharves, Tien Giang 2 wharves, Dong Thap 3 wharves, Ben Tre 1 wharf ports, Vinh Long 3 ports, Can Tho 17 ports, Hau Giang 2 ports, Soc Trang 1 port, Tra Vinh 2 ports, An Giang 1 port, Kien Giang 4 ports and Ca Mau 1 port.

Thus, the new regulations have changes in the number of ports in many areas.

In particular, in Hai Phong there is no longer Ha Long Mechanical port and Border port. In Ho Chi Minh City, there are no longer Tan Cang port, Holcim Hiep Phuoc cement port and Ba Son shipbuilding and repair factory port.

Two ports: VIMC Hau Giang general port and Lee & Man international specialized port belong to Hau Giang seaport, instead of Can Tho seaport as before. Superdong Tran De – Soc Trang port is also in the Soc Trang seaport area, instead of Can Tho.

The new decision adds a number of new ports, including: Port of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant (Khanh Hoa), Specialized port of Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant and Port of Gas & LNG Development Zone Project and auxiliary types of Nghi Son petrochemical refinery (Thanh Hoa), Trung Nam Ca Na International Port (Ninh Thuan), Hoa Phat Dung Quat General – Container Port (Quang Ngai).

The Vietnam Maritime Administration is responsible for organizing and guiding the management and exploitation of harbors in Vietnam’s seaports according to the provisions of law. Organize annual updates and submit to the Ministry of Transport to announce the List of ports belonging to Vietnamese seaports according to regulations.
