On April 24, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Vietnam Youth Union Central Committee, and the Vietnam Student Association Central Committee held the Departure Ceremony of the Journey “Dien Bien Phu – Longing for the River”. ”.
Within the framework of the military departure ceremony, the “Dien Bien Phu – River’s Desire” journey visited President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, offered incense at the Bac Son Martyrs’ Memorial and offered incense to commemorate General Vo. Nguyen Giap.
Attending the program were Mr. Bui Quang Huy – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong – Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Vietnam Youth Union; Mr. Ngo Van Cuong – Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam – Secretary of the Central Youth Union; Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Youth Union Council; Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Vietnam Student Association. Also attending, there were a large number of delegates who were Union – Association officials, union members, and children participating in the journey.
Right from early morning, the delegation participating in the journey wearing blue youth shirts, red flag shirts with yellow stars and traditional costumes of the people’s armed forces gathered at the historic Ba Dinh square. The delegation solemnly and respectfully laid a wreath with the words “Eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh” and entered his mausoleum.

The journey “Dien Bien Phu – River aspirations” towards the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2024).
The journey takes place from April 24 – 27, with A series of activities to visit, give gifts, and pay tribute to the families of former Dien Bien soldiers, wounded and sick soldiers, families with contributions to the revolution, heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs.
Within the framework of the journey, organize into 3 branch journeys towards Dien Bien. Specifically:
– Journey “Dien Bien Phu – River’s desire”;
– The journey “I love my Fatherland” was implemented by the Central Vietnam Youth Union, divided into 2 routes (Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Son La – Dien Bien; Hanoi – Yen Bai – Lao Cai – Lai Chau);
– The journey “Students with great aspirations” implemented by the Central Vietnam Student Association. On April 26, the traveling groups will reunite to Dien Bien province.
– On this occasion, the Central Team Council organized the Dien Bien Little Soldiers Festival in Dien Bien province from April 24 – 26, with the participation of 200 children delegates and 64 typical delegates in charge. across the country, along with many meaningful activities on the sidelines of the event.
