Lang Son newspaper celebrates the 60th anniversary of its first issue

60 years ago, on May 1, 1964, from Lang Son News, Lang Son Newspaper launched its first issue with 4 pages, published every 5 days. Although the staff and reporters are lacking and have not been properly trained, they actively go to the grassroots, closely following life and the revolutionary movement to propagate and contribute to mobilizing soldiers and people to emulate productive labor. , fought, achieved glorious victories.

On December 27, 1975, the 2nd session of the V National Assembly decided to merge Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces into Cao Lang province. The Standing Committee of the Cao Lang Provincial Party Committee issued a Resolution to merge the two newspapers Cao Bang and Lang Son into the newspaper of the Cao Lang Provincial Party Committee, named Cao Lang Newspaper. During the 3 years of merger (1976 – 1978), Cao Lang Newspaper performed well its duties as a propaganda, education, and encouragement agency for cadres, party members, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to unite and emulate implementation. guidelines, guidelines and policies of the Party and State on tasks from time to time in Cao Lang province.

Faced with the new requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland’s borders, on December 29, 1978, the State Council decided to separate Cao Lang province back into Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, and Cao Lang Newspaper was also separated.

Currently, Lang Son Newspaper publishes 5 times/week with a circulation of about 1.9 million copies/year. Lang Son electronic newspaper has 3 versions: Vietnamese, English, Chinese and expands channels to reach the public on social networking platforms such as Zalo and Facebook. Lang Son Newspaper currently has over 50 officers, reporters, officials, and workers.

Lang Son Newspaper is gradually organizing its editorial office according to a convergence model; Promote operational activities and newspaper publishing processes based on the application of modern information technology; Focus on building a team of officials, reporters, editors, and technicians with strong political will, professional expertise, and meeting the requirements of political tasks in the new period.

With outstanding achievements in 60 years of construction and development, Lang Son Newspaper is honored to be awarded many noble awards from the Party and State such as: Second-class Labor Medal, third-class Labor Medal; received many worthy awards from the Provincial People’s Committee, ministries, branches, agencies and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Lang Son Provincial National Assembly Delegation requested that in the coming time, Lang Son Newspaper be proactive, sharp and timely in attending Report, grasp and orient politics and ideology, especially when dealing with important and sensitive issues and events in social life. At the celebration, Lang Son Newspaper performed the ceremony of pressing the button to launch the new electronic interface of Lang Son Newspaper. This is a step forward, marking the development of Lang Son Newspaper in keeping with the trend of modern journalism.
