When it arrived, the main gate to pick up emergency patients was locked, the family looked for security but there was no one to open the gate for the car. The patient came in. After searching for a while but couldn’t find the security guard, the family and the doctor on duty at night had to use a cart to bring the patient in from the street.”
On April 23, talking to reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Huy Phuong – Director of Xuan Truong District Health Center (Nam Dinh province) said that it was true that the above incident happened, the hospital had received the information and requested protection. Director of Xuan Truong District Health Center added that the district Health Center has 3 gates to move in, the middle gate (gate number 1) is open at night after office hours (from after 5:00 p.m. the previous day to 5:00 a.m. the next morning) to Welcome patients to medical examination and emergency treatment. To ensure the property of the people and officials, employees, security guards must be on duty 24/7 at this gate and must only close the gate, absolutely not lock it. There are 2 gates on both sides that are open during business hours to serve each area entering the medical center.
Mr. Phuong said: “Around 0:56 a.m. on April 21, a patient in Xuan Phuong commune (Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province) was taken by his family to the Health Center (gate number 1) for emergency treatment. Afterwards, the patient’s wife entered the emergency room to notify the medical staff that a patient was coming, and the driver came in to call the security guard to open the gate, but the driver did not see the security guard.”
Also according to the Director of Xuan Truong District Health Center, on April 23, he assigned Mr. Hoang Kim Dung – Deputy Director of Xuan Truong District Health Center and the Head of the Administrative Organization Department to have a review meeting with the security department.
