(Construction) – Chairman of the People’s Council of Son La province Nguyen Thai Hung has just issued Resolution No. 315/NQ-HDND on approving the Urban Development Program of Son La city until 2030.

According to the Resolution, the goal is to concretize the National Urban Development Program, the Provincial Urban Development Program, the Resolution of the 15th Son La Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 – 2025 and development plans. socio-economic development and related medium-term public investment plans to promote effectiveness. Mobilizing resources to invest in construction and urban development, ensuring improvement of the quality and appearance of landscape architecture; Gradually invest in building a complete economic, technical and social infrastructure system in the area, connecting complete urban development areas, promoting urban development in each stage. ; Assign responsibilities to organizations, individuals, and agencies related to urban development.
At the same time, concretize tasks to implement the contents of Conclusion No. 353-KL/TU dated September 7, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and Decision No. 1644/QD-UBND dated August 11/ 2022 of the People’s Committee of Son La province on developing Son La city according to a class I urban orientation.
Gradually complete and improve urban quality, combining planning management with rural development and new rural construction. Preserve and promote values and identities, enhance competitiveness in the province and region as a basis for classifying urban areas and determining investment roadmaps for urban development in priority areas.
Deploy solutions and tasks for each stage to perfect policy mechanisms, attract capital and mobilize investment resources for urban construction goals. By 2025, strive to complete and improve missing and weak targets and criteria for grade II urban areas; By 2030, it aims to basically achieve the criteria for class I urban areas under the province.
It is expected to expand the administrative boundaries of Son La city to include 07 wards, 05 existing communes and the city expansion area including Chieng Mung, Chieng Ban, Hat Lot, Muong Bon communes of Mai Son district with an area of about 5,222 hectares. The total administrative units are 13 units, including 04 communes and 09 wards.
Priority infrastructure and landscape architecture development programs, for the period up to 2025, focus on investing in relatively complete urban areas with existing inner-city areas. Prioritize the development of the Northeast, Southwest and South directions, mainly following the main external traffic routes.
By the period 2026 – 2030, the city will develop in the South and Southeast direction, expanding according to the urban construction planning project until 2045, along National Highway 6. Focus on forming a combined traffic connection. with supporting economic activities in the Na San Airport area.
