Promoting its role as a humanitarian bridge, improving natural disaster prevention and control capacity for localities and people, QPT has implemented many programs and projects nationwide, contributing to minimizing damage. damage and overcome consequences caused by natural disasters. During more than 15 years of operation, QPT has mobilized and supported the construction of 122 disaster prevention community projects; 142 school swimming pools; more than 1 thousand scholarships for a green future; Installing 843 rain gauge stations, 16 mobile flood warning towers and many other important projects and models in 55 provinces and cities.

From 2019 until now, QPT has sponsored the province 8,331 billion VND to build a school; Install 4 swimming pools and 10 automatic rain measuring stations; Support rescue equipment for disaster prevention and control shock teams; Support for Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control and school equipment in districts and cities. The province also built 15 resettlement areas after the 2017 natural disaster; Effectively use support resources from central budget reserves, local budget reserves and other legal funding sources to mobilize the construction of about 170 disaster prevention projects. From there, minimize damage and ensure social security for people in natural disaster areas. In addition, the province also built a commune-level disaster prevention and control shock team in 151/151 communes, wards and towns with 8,899 members ready to fight in case of natural disasters.

Improve the response capacity of the community and people

At a recent working session with QPT, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long said: Hoa Binh is a mountainous locality with many difficult socio-economic conditions; There is a system of rivers, streams, lakes and dams widely distributed; Natural disasters and flash floods frequently occur, causing heavy damage. QTP’s companionship and concern have contributed to reducing natural disaster risks for the locality. Appreciating QPT’s support, the province has requested departments, branches and localities to coordinate closely to manage and operate support works and projects, ensuring maximum effectiveness.

Sharing about the local determination, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su said: Raising vigilance in disaster prevention is extremely important. This work cannot be overlooked and requires the participation of all levels and sectors. In recent years, despite many efforts, disaster prevention work in the area still reveals many limitations. On the other hand, facilities to serve disaster prevention are still lacking; Funds to solve migration problems and overcome landslides in traffic works and dams are still lacking. Therefore, the Provincial People’s Committee requests that localities always be highly vigilant with the motto of prevention being the key; Build disaster prevention plans close to reality so that if a situation occurs, it can be recognized and resolved better and more proactively.

The Provincial People’s Committee also directed localities to supplement technical means and working equipment to improve the direction and management capacity of the district and commune level Disaster Prevention Steering Committee. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su also hoped that QPT would continue to pay attention and consider supporting Hoa Binh with natural disaster warning and forecasting devices (automatic rain measuring stations).
