Also attending were representatives of leaders of departments, divisions, branches, districts, cities and towns and especially 150 delegates of Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline workers representing the elite children of Dien Bien. 70 years ago, Nghe An was proud to be the solid rearguard in the Dien Bien Phu campaign “famous in five continents, shaking the earth”. In order to devote their efforts to serving the campaign, in just a short time, the people of Nghe An warehoused 1,460 tons of dried and cleaned rice; transporting 5,000 tons of food; 5,438 additional young men served the battlefields of the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
In addition, Nghe An youth volunteers stood side by side with the army and people across the country to overcome high passes, deep streams and enemy bombs to supply weapons, ammunition and food to the soldiers.
