Proactively respond and ensure electricity supply during the dry season

On the morning of April 24, Vinh Phuc Electricity Company organized a conference on power supply in the dry season in 2024. Attending the conference were leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade; leaders of the Northern Power Corporation and representatives of a number of businesses in the province.

At the conference, representatives of Vinh Phuc Electricity Company reported on the electricity supply situation in the dry season of 2024. According to calculations, it is forecast that in 2024 the load in the province will increase by about 15% compared to 2023. The maximum capacity in the peak summer months (May, June, July) is expected to be 860MW, 905MW, 823MW at noon peak and 892MW, 950MW, 858MW at evening peak.

Proactively responding to difficulties in electricity supply in the dry season of 2024, minimizing the risk of electricity shortage to serve production, business and people’s daily activities, Vinh Phuc Electricity Company recommends that the Enterprises develop and implement solutions to use electricity economically and effectively according to Directive No. 20 of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in the period 2020 – 2025; Directive No. 11 of the Provincial People’s Committee on ensuring electricity supply, implementing economical and effective use of electric energy, ensuring electricity safety in the province…

At the same time, it is recommended that businesses adjust production plans and shift loads away from the time frames of 12:00 – 15:00; 21:00 – 24:00 in the months of May, June, July and when there is a lack of power; Only increase production shifts during off-peak hours or Sundays to reduce system peak capacity.

Discussing at the conference, agencies, units and businesses proposed solutions and shared experiences in using electricity economically and effectively, reducing the situation of overloaded power grids.
