On the morning of April 24, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the 8th meeting of the National Committee on Digital Citizenship, with a focus on discussing the digital economy. Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Chien attended.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that CDT is a breakthrough, a key task, and an objective requirement. Real estate is also a strategic choice and top priority in implementing socio-economic development goals.

CDS helps reduce administrative procedures, inconvenience, harassment, compliance costs, travel costs… for people and businesses. Strong digitalization, increased openness and transparency, and prevention of corruption and negativity.

In the 2024 work plan, the National Council of Digital Citizens identifies the theme “Digital economic development with 4 pillars: information technology industry, digitalization of economic sectors, digital management and digital data – Dynamics”. important force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development”.

Therefore, the Prime Minister requires all levels, sectors and localities to regularly and continuously monitor, evaluate, urge and closely direct national reform work, ensuring effectiveness and substance.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing content on digital economic development such as: Key tasks of developing Vietnam’s digital economy in 2024; solutions to promote e-commerce applications for consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products; digitalization of industrial production; Developing smart agriculture…

Ministries, branches and localities proposed many solutions for digital economic development such as accelerating the deployment of commercial 5G; promote planning and development of regional super data centers; research, cooperate in developing applications and perfecting the digital ecosystem for key industries based on 5G and AIoT; Research and improve mechanisms and policies to form a market for applying industry digital transformation solutions…

To date, the proportion of digital economy to Vietnam’s GDP has reached 16.5%; Of which, the proportion of ICT core digital economy accounts for more than 60%; The proportion of digital economy in each industry and field reached 6.58%; The proportion of e-commerce in total retail sales is about 8%; The rate of businesses using electronic contracts in the electricity sector reached 100%; The banking sector reached 42.4%… Information technology industry revenue is estimated at about 138.5 billion USD. The number of operating information technology enterprises reaches about 45,500 enterprises.
