Discipline of former Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Committees of An Giang and Soc Trang provinces

At the 40th session held on April 23 and 24, the Central Inspection Committee considered a report recommending disciplinary action against a number of violating party members at the Party Committees of An Giang and Soc Trang provinces.

The Central Inspection Committee identified Mr. Vuong Binh Thanh, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of An Giang Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Tran Van Chuyen, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Soc Trang province, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned responsibilities and tasks.

Two former local leaders violated regulations on what party members cannot do and their responsibility to set an example.

These violations, according to the Party’s inspection agency, cause serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reduce the reputation of the party organization and local government, to the point that they must be considered and disciplined.

Based on the Party’s regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to impose a disciplinary warning on Mr. Vuong Binh Thanh and reprimand Mr. Tran Van Chuyen.

The Central Inspection Committee at this meeting also reviewed the results of supervision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Standing Committee members of the Thai Binh and Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committees.

This agency requests the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Comrades of the Provincial Party Committee of Thai Binh and Bac Lieu to seriously review, learn from experience, and promptly overcome violations, shortcomings, and limitations in leadership and guidance. Directing the development and implementation of working regulations; staff work and land management and use in investment projects; declaration of assets and income.

The Central Inspection Committee also requested the Standing Committee of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee to direct inspections when there are signs of violations against the Party Committee of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and report the results to the Central Inspection Committee.
