On April 24, at the People’s Committee of Phu Cuong commune (Dai Tu), the People’s Court of Thai Nguyen province held a mobile trial of the defendants for the crime of “Disturbing public order and “Murder”.

According to the indictment, Truong Manh Tien (residing in Deo hamlet, Phu Cuong commune, Dai Tu) had a previous conflict with Ha Huy Hung (residing in Phu Thinh 1 hamlet, Phu Thinh commune, Dai Tu). On November 6, 2023, Tien called some friends Vu Minh Chien, Dinh Tuan Vu, and Luong Van Thanh to come to his house to meet Hung to talk and reconcile the conflict.

At 8:30 p.m. the same day, Ha Huy Hung’s group, including Nguyen Van Phu, Ha Quang Chien, Tran Trung Hien, and Nguyen Hai Dang, arrived at the appointed location at a store in hamlet 1, Phu Xuyen commune, and met Tien’s group. . After words were exchanged, Chien used a 54cm long knife to slash Mr. Nguyen Van Phu many times. As a result, Mr. Phu suffered many injuries, with an disability rate of 19%.

After the incident, the families of Vu Minh Chien and Truong Manh Tien compensated victim Nguyen Van Phu a total of 30 million VND.

At trial, the defendants sincerely pleaded guilty. After reviewing the details of the case, the Trial Panel sentenced defendant Vu Minh Chien to 10 years in prison; Truong Manh Tien was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
