Top Vietnamese players attend the Bat Kiet Chinese Chess Tournament in Thai Nguyen

On April 24, at the Center for Culture and Arts of Thai Nguyen province, the Provincial People’s Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Chess Federation to organize the opening ceremony of the first Bat Kiet – Huong Tra Thai Nguyen Chess Tournament in 2024. Comrade Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh attended and delivered the opening speech.

Participating in the tournament were 8 top Vietnamese Chinese chess players, competing in the contents of Bat Kiet Chinese Chess and Performance Chinese Chess, with a total of 18 matches. The matches are broadcast live and commented on VTC 2 TV channel of VTC Television and social networks.

In particular, within the framework of the Tournament there is a chess performance, this is a specific chess competition with a unique way of playing, players do not need to look at the chess board and pieces. Chess players are required to remember the moves and shape the board in their mind.

In his opening speech, comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh emphasized: The tournament is a good opportunity for players to meet, share experiences and competition skills, and increase the spirit of cohesion. Also through the Award, many cultural beauties and tourism potentials of the province are widely promoted to domestic and international people and tourists.

The tournament is held until April 27, 2024.
