“On the morning of December 5, after a group of strangers came to threaten us, dozens of scared workers ran to the forest. Down in the factory, they kept banging. When they came down later, they destroyed everything, property damage from the incident amounted to 50-60 million VND” – Mr. Quang said.

According to research, the jellyfish factory was destroyed at Vung Noi Tai location, located on the land rented by the Van Don District People’s Committee to Mr. Hoang Van Tham’s household under Decision No. 155/QD-UBND (Decision 155) signed in 2007. .

For many years, the factory has always created jobs for workers, promoting local strengths in aquaculture and seafood processing to develop and stick to the sea. After that, we were so scared that we quit our jobs and went back to our hometown because we were afraid of being assaulted,” Mr. T. said.

According to Mr. Hoang Trong Vinh (born 1994, son of factory owner Hoang Van Tham) said: The family factory has been operating for many years, in accordance with the law, creating jobs for dozens of households exploiting jellyfish. In the island district, hundreds of seasonal workers work. The actions of the group of people who destroyed the jellyfish factory were a serious violation, violating my family’s property and life, causing insecurity and local chaos.
