Confirm with VietNamNetMr. Tran Huy Phuong, Director of the Medical Center (TTYT) of Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province, said that the unit had just had an incident where the emergency patient reception gate was locked.
Accordingly, at around 1:00 a.m. on April 21, when the car carrying a late-stage cancer patient to the emergency room at Xuan Truong District Health Center, the main gate was locked tightly. The patient’s family and doctor searched but there was no security guard to open the gate for the ambulance to enter the lobby.
Helpless, the family and the doctor on duty at night had to put the patient in a wheelchair in a sitting position, then run to the emergency room via the pedestrian walkway.
An hour later, when the patient was examined and determined to be transferred, the family and doctor still could not find a security guard to open the gate, so they continued to take the patient out the same way as before.
Regarding this issue, Mr. Phuong said: “The district health center has 3 gates to move in, the main gate in the middle (gate number 1) is always open to welcome patients coming for examination and emergency treatment. The two gates on both sides are open during business hours. To ensure the property of residents, officials, employees, and security guards, the gate can only be closed and absolutely not locked. At the same time, there must be someone constantly on duty in this area.”
The director said that the violating security guard reported and explained and acknowledged the incident. Mr. Phuong further informed that at the time of the incident, the security guard was still present at work but was fast asleep, leading to the above situation.
After the review meeting, the Board of Directors of Xuan Truong District Health Center decided to suspend work and consider stopping signing a contract with this security guard.
