Ca Mau is a province with strengths in aquaculture and fishing. Especially the production, processing and export of shrimp; with export turnover of more than 1 billion USD/year.

Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, said that exporting agricultural and aquatic products will be one of the great potentials for Ca Mau to cooperate with Chinese businesses. China is a large market with about 1.4 billion people. However, Ca Mau province’s economic and trade cooperation with Chinese partners and localities is still not commensurate with the potential of both sides. In 2023, the total trade turnover between Ca Mau province and Chinese partners will only reach 97 million USD, accounting for a very small proportion compared to the total trade turnover of Vietnam – China. Provincial authorities need to acknowledge the opinions exchanged by partners and businesses; Urgently answer, support and guide businesses on policy mechanisms and quickly make trade connections.

Ca Mau province has strengths in shrimp farming and export.

Mr. Wei Hoa Tuong, Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, said the meeting created an opportunity for businesses to learn from experience and seek opportunities with new partners. Through the program, we believe that Chinese businesses will be interested in investment cooperation in Ca Mau province.
