On March 5, 1964, the Standing Committee of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 05 on converting the Lang Son News to Lang Son Newspaper. On May 1, 1964, the first issue of Lang Son Newspaper was released to the Party Committee and People in the province.

After 60 years of construction and development, Lang Son Newspaper has always affirmed its role as the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, government and People of Lang Son province, making an important contribution to Propagate and encourage officials, party members, soldiers and people of Lang Son ethnic groups to participate in the struggle for national liberation, national unification, building and protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

In the beginning, Lang Son Newspaper was published every 5 days in limited quantities. To date, the Newspaper publishes 5 times/week and by 2023 the circulation will reach nearly 2 million copies with modern printing technology. Implementing the Project “Building and developing a modern Lang Son Newspaper until 2025”, the Newspaper gradually organizes its editorial office according to a convergent model, taking electronic newspapers as the center.
