On the afternoon of April 24, a leader of the People’s Committee of Quang Phu town (Cu M’gar district, Dak Lak) confirmed that a fire had just occurred at a grocery store in the area.

According to initial information, at about 3:00 p.m. on the same day, the grocery store at 295 Hung Vuong Street (Quang Phu town, Cu M’gar district) suddenly caught fire.

At this time, due to the hot weather and the items inside the store being flammable, the fire broke out very quickly, creating columns of black smoke tens of meters high.

Detecting a fire, people tried to put out the fire but failed, the fire threatened to spread to neighboring houses.

Receiving the fire report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police sent dozens of officers and soldiers and dispatched 5 specialized fire engines to quickly arrive at the scene in coordination with the fire department. Cu Mgar district authorities deployed firefighting measures.

By about 4:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled and did not spread into the residential area.

The fire did not cause any loss of life but caused property damage estimated at over 2 billion VND.
