Sentencing a group of doctors who falsified more than 1,000 health examination records in Kien Giang

On the afternoon of April 24, the People’s Court of Kien Giang province sentenced a group of security guards, doctors and collaborators to falsify more than 1,000 health examination records.

According to the indictment, during the period from 2019 to 2021, Tran Thanh Phong (born 1981), security guard; Huynh Long (born 1979), Danh Chanh Tuy (born 1968) and Lam Thi Minh Phung (born 1971), are doctors at Go Quao District Medical Center (Kien Giang) who took advantage of their assigned tasks and forged documents. Medical examination (no one can come for in-person examination) to supplement the A1 driving test record.

According to the testimony of the defendants, Phong discussed and agreed with Tuy, Long, and Phung to falsify health certificates for four defendants, including: Nguyen Thi Huyen Nga (born 1957) and Le Hoang Xuan, a Trung collaborator. Kien Giang Youth vocational training center; Nguyen Chi Loi (born 1967) and Le Thi Hong Gam (born 1982), collaborators at Kien Giang Ethnic Boarding Vocational School.

Even though they knew they were not assigned the task of signing medical examination certificates, defendants Long, Phung and Tuy signed false medical examination conclusions for the four defendants mentioned above for a total of nearly 1,700 people. paper, illegally profiting over 48 million VND.

In particular, defendant Phong took advantage of being assigned to hold the key to the seal cabinet of Go Quao District Medical Center, stamped the above mentioned false health examination papers, and illegally profited nearly 23 million VND.

For Nga, Loi, Gam, and Xuan, who are collaborators of driving schools and centers, they are aware that medical examination without someone coming directly to the examination is not according to regulations. But the purpose is to attract more and more students to participate in learning to benefit from the theoretical teaching process.

Since then, Nga, Loi, Gam and Xuan have colluded with Phong and Phung to falsify medical examination papers for students taking the A1 driving license exam (without having to come directly to the examination) for a total of nearly 750 papers. Illegal profits amounted to nearly 17 million VND.

The jury imposed a sentence on eight defendants for the crime of Forgery at work. Specifically, defendant Phong was sentenced to 13 years in prison; The three defendants, Phung, Long, and Nga, each received 12 years in prison. Defendant Tuy was sentenced to 8 years in prison; Defendant Loi got 7 years in prison, defendant Gam got 3 years in prison, and defendant Xuan got 1 year in prison. At the same time, the Trial Panel forced the defendants to return the illegal profits to the State public treasury.
